Mardi Crawl- Friday

Last night, Ryan and I went pretty early to the fairly new Tin Man Brewery in town. There were a lot of bars, that brewery, and a winery on Franklin street participating in an event they called "Mardi Crawl" (like a pub crawl, but also celebrating Mardi Gras). We had already planned on going to Tin Man, since we had never been before, but we weren't sure if we'd go to anywhere else that was participating in the event. I'm glad we didn't go anywhere else, because it was really cold and windy, plus every place was pretty packed full of people (including some guy in a costume, on stilts, and someone wearing a costume that included what looked like huge handmade feathery wings. Not sure how he got through any regular sized doors.)

Dress and tights: Sears, Shoes: JC Penneys, Belt: Thrifted, Necklace: Craft fair

Here's what I wore last night. Sorry about the brightness, but it was dark already. (I told Ryan he better get me a tripod for my birthday!) I just got this sweater dress on clearance from Sears, and I think maybe the tights are from there too. Unfortunately, sometimes I sit down, and the tights rip a little more in the middle (if you know what I mean. haha). Oh well, I'll wear them until it's uncomfortable to do so!
It was definitely too cold for these shoes and cut-out tights, but I wore my long wool coat, so that helped.

Whoa! Super pale! :O  I did my makeup as usual, but I added a small wing extending from the usual liner on my top lids. I guess I should have made them larger, since I'm now looking at this picture and I can barely notice them. I put on some darker eyeshadow too, but you can hardly tell on hooded eyelids, unless you apply it up to your eyebrows!

We each got a beer sampler at Tin Man. Here's Ryan sampling the pilsner. I think that one was probably my favorite, because of it's honey wheat flavor. If I can remember correctly, from left to right they are: pilsner, red ale, i.p.a., porter, and stout. Tin Man had an upstairs room where we went after enjoying our drinks and some BBQ brisket with mac and cheese. I had heard that there was music upstairs, but by the time we got up there, we saw a guy with a saxophone, and it looked like he was taking a break for awhile. So, we didn't stay up there too long, but we did each get a bead necklace that had the Tin Man head logo on it.

Today, Ryan's gone to visit his brother. He got up earlier than I wanted to, so I just stayed home. Well, time to go shopping and pig out on chips and frozen yogurt! Okay, okay, maybe not all that, but possibly tea and some crafting. :) Have a great weekend!

  1. Again a lovely outfit! Love the golden accents.
I think your make up is fine, not invisible.. sure you can go bolder if you wish, but it looks nice like that too.

    1. Thanks! I wanted to go a bit bolder with the makeup bc it was a mardi gras event. I mean, people were wearing crazy things, so my makeup was boring compared to theirs. hehe.

Corn beer? That sounds gross. :p

    1. It could be really versatile though, so I think people with different styles could wear it with different things.
