Early Birthday Gifts?

Hey there! It's three more days until my birthday, and my early gifts included some black aviator sunglasses from a cigarette company, a cool looking deck of cards from a cigar company, and some Benefit products from Sephora. Yeah, um, apparently I'm getting birthday stuff from the cigarette company because I signed up for a freebie from them once. Oops, I don't smoke. I mean, apparently we're good friends and all, because you're sending me gifts, but uh, I don't support your company at all...

I'll get back to that later, but for now I'll tell you about my day. The first thing I did, after making myself presentable, was go to an interview. Well, I didn't even get into the interview, because I learned more about the job and decided that it was probably the worst possible job ever. But that's okay, because I got a call back about an artsy job, and I'm super excited to see where that will go.

The only other place I went today was the dollar store, and I got these nerdy love puppy socks. These could possibly be kids socks, as I have small-ish feet, but whatever, they're totally appropriate for someone who is turning 23 this week. Yup.

Lunch- Tasty yam and buckwheat noodles with egg, and green tea.

Speaking of adorable Valentines dogs, look at this awesome card I got for Ryan! I bought it off Redbubble, and it's by Identitypro, who is making these cards to save up money for her wedding. We both love corgis, and like to send each other adorable pictures of them over FB sometimes.

So, back to the birthday freebies! I got an email from Sephora saying that I could get a free gift for my birthday with any purchase in store or online. Well, the mall is seriously three miles from my house, but I'm so lazy that I made an online purchase instead. Here's what I got:

I think all of the Tokidoki roll-on perfume was on clearance for $7 on Sephora's website. I chose "Adios", probably only because I thought it was the cutest, but I do really like the citrus-y scent of it. When I saw the box this came in I thought, "Wow, this is larger than I thought." But then I opened it and wondered why the box was so large compared to the actual perfume.

Here is the free gift I got with my purchase! I've never tried any products by Benefit, so I was super excited to choose this mini set with mascara and highlighter.

Of course, I'm really pale so the highlighter might be more like a bronzer on me. :p  I haven't tried the mascara, but I'll let you know later on if it's as good as it claims to be.
Along with any online Sephora purchase, you can get three scent samples, so here are the ones I got:

I LOVE the Betsey Johnson scent! That's one I definitely wanted to try out, and I recommend trying it out if you like floral scents. I have no clue if the Yves Saint Laurent sample is meant for men or women, but it's a bit strong and musky for me. Something that would give me a headache after smelling it for awhile. I don't remember what my original third choice was, but I guess they were out of samples for it, because I was sent this "1 Million" cologne. My first thought was "this looks like a frickin Magnum wrapper." Haha! The scent is described as "spicy leather", which Ryan thought sounded gross, but I thought it sounded like something that would smell good to me. I can't really describe what it's like, but I love the smell of it!

Ps. The 200 followers giveaway is coming up soon! It would be cool if it were on my birthday! :D

    1. I'm not supporting them at all. I never once said the name of the company, and the name isn't on the sunglasses anywhere.

Okay, I forgot about your new blog button.

    1. Thanks. Its probably based to have a Sephora this close if you love makeup. I mostly like cheap lip products though, so its not tempting to me.
