Favorite Things for January

January is almost over already, and there's not really anything remarkable that happened to me this month. But, there are some remarkable products that I've been loving lately.

Beauty/Body:

1.) Maybelline Falsies- Flared

This is definitely the best mascara I've tried in a while. I had been using a Sephora brand mascara that was nothing special, but I kept hearing great things about Maybelline's Falsie Mascara so I thought I'd give it a try.

On the right side of the picture is my normal eyelashes. They are short and extremely light in color. And on the left side is my lashes with only the Falsies mascara applied. What a difference! Of course, my little eyelashes aren't going to look as big and full as real false eyelashes, but I think this is the closest that my natural lashes can get to that.

2.) Vital Care Vitamin E Creme

I saw this 8 oz tub of vitamin E creme at Big Lot's for $2.80, so I thought I'd try it out on the dry, flaky parts of my face. My skin gets especially dry in the winter, so I've been looking for something really moisturizing to use mostly on my face. This creme is nice and thick, and I think it even works better on my dry skin than Argan oil does. I don't know about the age defying thing, but I do think the "rejuvenating" part is true. This really helps to get rid of my flaky, dead skin, while also helping to prevent it.

3.) Bath and Body Works Bali Mango Lotion

I got the small size of this lotion the last time I went to Bath and Body Works, because it was my favorite scent out of the whole store. I seriously sniffed every single lotion in that store! I was really disappointed that they discontinued my favorite scent, Black Amethyst, but I do have a lot of that scent left in perfume, so that should last me a while. Anyway, I really like fruity scents, and this new 2013 Escape Collection scent smells so good!

Non-Beauty Purchases:

 1.) Nexus 7 Tablet Case

I got this lovely red and white case for my Nexus 7 tablet from Etsy. This case is hand made, and I think it's very well made. The shop is called CitrusSister, and they sell tablet and e-reader cases, as well as tote bags for a really great price. Most of these cases are only $15, so I think that's a steal! View this one here.

2.) My other favorite purchase this month would have to be my chambray/denim look shirt that I thrifted for $1.50.

And that's about it for things I've been loving this month. Now, onto February, because it's my birthday month! :)

  3. Oh, your lashes are not that light at all. My lashes are really light color and not that voluminous naturally, either. It was the mascara effect you spotted, I will add a pic of my natural lashes too ;)
